Tender pork chops coated in a sweet and savory apple butter glaze, perfect for cozy fall dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in pork chops (thick-cut)
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cinnamon. Let them sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, add the pork chops.
  3. Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the apple butter and chicken broth until smooth.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium, pour the apple butter mixture into the skillet, and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Place the seared pork chops back into the skillet and spoon the glaze over them. Cover and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  7. Remove the pork chops from the skillet, drizzle with the remaining glaze, and garnish with fresh thyme if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure the pork chops are perfectly cooked at 145°F. Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes after cooking to retain their juices.
