This slow-cooked BBQ chicken recipe is perfect for busy nights, offering tender, juicy chicken coated in a sweet and smoky sauce with minimal prep time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts lightly with salt and pepper. Place them in the crockpot.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine BBQ sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well blended.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated evenly.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours. The chicken should be tender and easily shredded.
  5. Once cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crockpot. Stir to make sure the shredded chicken is fully coated in sauce.
  6. Serve hot over rice, in buns, or alongside your favorite sides. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra smoky flavor, add a teaspoon of liquid smoke to the sauce mixture. If the sauce seems too thick after cooking, add a splash of water or chicken broth and stir it in.
