A creamy, comforting twist on classic Sloppy Joes, featuring tender chicken and Alfredo sauce served on toasted buns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 4 brioche or sandwich buns, toasted
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes, or until softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  3. Stir in the shredded chicken and Alfredo sauce. Mix well to combine.
  4. Season with Italian seasoning and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
  5. Toast the brioche buns lightly on a hot skillet or in a toaster.
  6. Spoon the chicken Alfredo mixture generously onto the bottom half of each bun. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and top with chopped parsley if desired.
  7. Place the top half of the bun over the filling and serve warm.

Notes

[‘Toast the buns to prevent the sauce from soaking through and to add crunch.’, ‘Use freshly grated Parmesan for better flavor and texture.’, ‘Adjust the sauce consistency with milk or chicken broth if needed.’, ‘Taste and adjust seasoning as Alfredo sauce can vary in saltiness.’]
