These cozy ham and cheese sliders on sweet Hawaiian rolls are a quick and easy snack or meal perfect for any occasion, featuring a buttery, garlicky glaze and melty cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12-count Hawaiian Rolls (classic sweet rolls)
  • 12 ounces thinly sliced ham
  • 8 ounces cheese slices (Swiss or cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping all the rolls connected.
  3. Place the bottom half of the rolls in your baking dish and press down slightly.
  4. Layer the ham evenly over the bottom rolls.
  5. Add a layer of cheese slices on top of the ham.
  6. Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the cheese and press gently but firmly.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and poppy seeds.
  8. Brush the butter mixture generously over the top of the rolls.
  9. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  10. Bake for 15 minutes covered, then remove the foil and bake an additional 5 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing into individual sliders.

Notes

Covering the sliders with foil during baking keeps them moist and ensures cheese melts evenly. Use softened butter for better glaze absorption. If top isn’t browning enough, broil for 1-2 minutes watching closely. Warm thick ham slightly before layering to help cheese melt faster.
