A warm, cheesy, and comforting slow cooker dip combining hot dogs, chili, and cheese, perfect for casual gatherings and easy snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs, sliced into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 (15 oz) can chili with beans
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (about 7 oz)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp diced jalapeños (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice 8 hot dogs into bite-sized pieces (about 1/2 inch). Shred 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese and soften 8 oz of cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, 1 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1 tbsp yellow mustard, and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce. Stir until smooth.
  3. Place sliced hot dogs evenly at the bottom of the slow cooker insert. Pour the can of chili over the hot dogs, spreading gently.
  4. Spoon the cheese mixture over the chili and hot dogs, spreading evenly. Sprinkle diced jalapeños on top if using.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 to 3 hours. Stir gently halfway through cooking.
  6. After cooking, stir gently, taste and adjust salt and pepper if needed. Serve warm with tortilla chips, pretzels, or favorite dippers.

Notes

Soften cream cheese before mixing to avoid lumps. Cook on low and slow for best flavor and texture. Stir gently halfway through cooking to avoid breaking hot dog pieces. If dip thickens when cooled, stir in a splash of milk or broth before reheating. Can be made in oven at 350°F for 30 minutes if no slow cooker is available.
