A creamy, cheesy, and comforting slow cooker chicken recipe made with just five simple ingredients. Perfect for busy weeknights, this dish is tender, flavorful, and a total crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon (or 3/4 cup pre-cooked bacon bits)
  • 1 packet (about 1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 100 grams)

Instructions

  1. If bacon isn’t pre-cooked, fry 6 slices until crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble once cool. Meanwhile, rinse and pat dry the chicken breasts.
  2. Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning evenly over the chicken. Add dollops of softened cream cheese across the top.
  3. Cover and cook on low for about 4 hours (or on high for 2-3 hours) until chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  4. Use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crockpot or transfer to a bowl. Stir in the crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined and melty.
  5. Let it sit in the crockpot for an extra 10 minutes with the lid on to allow the cheese to fully melt into the creamy sauce before serving.

Notes

Soften cream cheese before adding to avoid lumps. Cook bacon separately until crisp for best texture. Shred chicken while hot to absorb sauce better. If sauce is too thick, add a splash of chicken broth or water. Avoid overcooking chicken to prevent dryness. Use a slow cooker liner for easier cleanup.
