A quick and easy recipe for creamy, refreshing creamsicle bars made with real orange juice and a smooth cream base. Perfect for warm weather and simple to customize.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. Juice the oranges until you have about 1 cup (240 ml) of juice. Strain out any seeds or pulp for a smooth texture.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the fresh orange juice, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture is smooth. Fold in orange zest if using.
  3. Carefully pour the mixture into popsicle molds or silicone molds, leaving a small gap at the top for expansion when freezing.
  4. Place the popsicle sticks in the center of each mold. If molds do not have built-in holders, freeze the mixture for about 30 minutes first to partially set before inserting sticks.
  5. Transfer the molds to the freezer and freeze for at least 4-6 hours, preferably overnight.
  6. When ready, run warm water over the outside of the molds briefly to loosen the bars. Gently pull them out and enjoy immediately or keep frozen until serving.

Notes

Use fresh orange juice for best flavor. If sticks won’t stand upright, partially freeze mixture before inserting sticks. For dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut milk or coconut cream. Adjust sugar to taste. Warm water rinses help remove bars from molds without breaking.
