A creamy, bacon-packed dip that’s quick to make and perfect for parties. This crowd-pleasing dip combines smoky bacon, cream cheese, ranch seasoning, and cheddar for a rich and tangy flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: a few dashes hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, flipping occasionally. Drain on paper towels and crumble when cool.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth using a hand mixer or sturdy spoon.
  3. Mix in sour cream and mayonnaise until fully incorporated and silky smooth.
  4. Stir in ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, black pepper, and hot sauce if using. Mix gently but thoroughly.
  5. Fold in shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon carefully to keep texture distinct.
  6. Add sliced green onions and stir. Optionally, sauté green onions in reserved bacon fat before adding for extra flavor.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let flavors meld and dip thicken.
  8. Serve chilled or slightly below room temperature with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetable sticks.

Notes

Use full-fat cream cheese for best texture. Save a tablespoon of bacon fat to sauté green onions for extra flavor. Chill dip for at least 1 hour for best taste and texture. If too thick after chilling, stir in a tablespoon of milk or cream to loosen. Can be made a day ahead and stored covered in the fridge for up to 4 days. Avoid freezing to prevent texture changes.
