A cozy and indulgent twist on traditional stuffing, these crispy stuffing waffles are quick to make, packed with classic stuffing spices, and perfect for holiday breakfasts, brunches, or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (about 400g) cooked stuffing (homemade or store-bought, preferably traditional bread stuffing with sage and herbs)
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) whole milk or dairy-free alternative
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated sharp cheddar or gruyere cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron for about 5 minutes until hot.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs and 1/4 cup (60ml) milk until smooth. Add 2 tablespoons melted butter and mix well.
  3. Fold in 4 cups (400g) of stuffing and 1/2 cup (50g) grated cheese gently until combined, keeping stuffing fluffy.
  4. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs and season lightly with salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Spray waffle iron with non-stick spray or brush with melted butter. Spoon about 1 cup (240ml) of stuffing mixture onto the iron, spread slightly but do not press down. Close lid and cook for 4–6 minutes until waffles are golden and crispy.
  6. Carefully remove waffles with a spatula or tongs and place on a cooling rack or plate. Repeat with remaining mixture.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs for better binding. Do not overload the waffle iron to avoid soggy waffles. Let the mixture rest 10 minutes if waffles are not crisping well. Keep cooked waffles warm on a wire rack in a 200°F (95°C) oven. For gluten-free, use gluten-free bread stuffing. For dairy-free, substitute milk and cheese with dairy-free alternatives. If no waffle iron, pan-fry spoonfuls like patties or use a grill pan.
