Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, and chicken broth. Stir until smooth.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. Cover the crock pot and set it to low heat for 6-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours. The chicken should be tender and easily shredded when done.
  5. About 30 minutes before serving, add the butter to the crock pot and stir gently.
  6. Use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crock pot. Stir to mix it with the sauce.
  7. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for garnish.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, cook uncovered for the last 15 minutes or stir in a cornstarch slurry. Customize the seasoning for a stronger ranch flavor or add extra ingredients like spinach or cheddar cheese.
