A sophisticated twist on classic deviled eggs featuring creamy yolks blended with cream cheese, smoky smoked salmon, and crunchy everything bagel seasoning. Perfect for parties and casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 3 ounces smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped (optional)
  • Everything bagel seasoning (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried onion, garlic, salt)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place 12 large eggs in a single layer in a large pot. Cover with cold water about an inch above the eggs. Bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat, then cover the pot, remove from heat, and let sit for exactly 12 minutes.
  2. Drain the hot water and immediately transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water. Let chill for at least 10 minutes to stop cooking and make peeling easier. Gently crack the shells and peel under running water if needed.
  3. Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Carefully scoop out the yolks into a medium bowl.
  4. Add 4 ounces softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste to the yolks.
  5. Use a hand mixer or fork to whip the yolk mixture until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes with a mixer.
  6. Finely dice about 3 ounces of smoked salmon and 1 tablespoon fresh dill. Fold half of these into the yolk mixture gently, reserving the rest for garnish.
  7. Using a piping bag or spoon, fill each egg white half with the creamy yolk mixture, forming a neat, generous mound.
  8. Garnish each deviled egg with reserved smoked salmon pieces, a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning, and a little fresh dill.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes before serving to let flavors meld and filling set.

Notes

Use older eggs for easier peeling. Adding a teaspoon of baking soda to boiling water helps shells come off cleanly. Pat egg whites dry before filling to help filling stick better. If filling is too thick, add a splash of milk or cream. For dairy-free, substitute cream cheese with mashed avocado or vegan cream cheese. Homemade everything bagel seasoning can be made gluten-free by using sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, and coarse salt.
