Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) orange-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold milk (whole milk or 2%)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) lemon-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, candy corn pieces

Instructions

  1. Dissolve orange-flavored gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stir until dissolved (about 2 minutes). Add 1/2 cup cold water and stir gently. Let cool 5-7 minutes without setting.
  2. Pour orange gelatin into clear cups filling about one-third full (3-4 oz per cup). Refrigerate 30 minutes until firm but tacky.
  3. Dissolve unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup boiling water, stir until clear and dissolved (about 2 minutes).
  4. Add 1/2 cup cold milk and 1 cup sweetened condensed milk to gelatin. Whisk until smooth. Cool to room temperature (about 10 minutes) without setting.
  5. Pour creamy mixture over orange layer filling about one-third full. Refrigerate 30 minutes until firm.
  6. Dissolve lemon-flavored gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stir well. Add 1/2 cup cold water and stir gently. Let cool 5-7 minutes without setting.
  7. Pour yellow gelatin over creamy layer filling cups to the top (3-4 oz). Refrigerate at least 2 hours until fully set.
  8. Before serving, optionally top with whipped cream and candy corn pieces.

Notes

Pour gelatin layers slowly and close to the surface to avoid breaking through layers. Chill each layer until firm but tacky before adding the next. Use sweetened condensed milk for creamy richness. For vegan version, substitute gelatin with agar-agar and use dairy-free milk and condensed milk alternatives. Can be made a day ahead and stored covered in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Avoid freezing.
