Flavorful Firecracker Hot Dogs Recipe Easy Spicy Bacon Jalapeños

A quick and easy recipe for bacon-wrapped hot dogs infused with spicy jalapeños, perfect for grilling and adding a smoky, spicy kick to a classic favorite.

Ingredients

  • Hot dogs (beef or pork, preferably all-beef with natural casing)
  • Thick-cut bacon slices
  • Fresh jalapeños, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil or vegetable oil (for brushing grill or pan)
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheddar cheese, diced onions, spicy mayo

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or pan to medium-high heat, about 400°F (200°C). Brush the grill grates or pan lightly with oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Slice jalapeños thinly, removing seeds if you want less heat. Lay out the hot dogs on a plate.
  3. Wrap each hot dog with one slice of thick-cut bacon, overlapping slightly. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  4. Tuck 3-4 jalapeño slices under the bacon wrap along the length of each hot dog.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on the grill or pan. Cook for 10-12 minutes, turning every 2-3 minutes with tongs for even crisping and cooking until bacon is golden and crispy and hot dogs are heated through.
  6. Optional: During the last 2 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the hot dogs and close the grill lid or cover the pan briefly to melt the cheese.
  7. Optional: While the hot dogs cook, slice and toast buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
  8. Assemble each hot dog in a bun, add desired toppings such as diced onions or a drizzle of spicy mayo, and serve immediately.

Notes

Use thick-cut bacon for best crispiness and to hold jalapeños in place. Turn hot dogs gently every 2-3 minutes to avoid burning bacon. Secure bacon with toothpicks if needed. Adjust jalapeño heat by removing seeds or substituting with milder peppers. For baking, cook at 400°F for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway.
