Frosty Frozen Margarita Pitcher - featured image

A quick and easy frozen margarita pitcher recipe perfect for parties, featuring a unique twist of frozen lime-tequila ice cubes to keep the drink flavorful and icy without dilution.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) blanco or silver tequila
  • 1 cup (240 ml) triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 to 1.5 cups (240360 ml) fresh lime juice
  • ½ cup (120 ml) simple syrup
  • Ice cubes made with 1 cup lime juice and ½ cup tequila
  • Coarse salt for rimming glasses (optional)
  • Lime wheels or wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lime-tequila ice cubes by combining 1 cup fresh lime juice with ½ cup tequila in an ice cube tray and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  2. Juice fresh limes to obtain about 1 to 1.5 cups of lime juice, strain to remove pulp and seeds.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine 2 cups tequila, 1 cup triple sec, fresh lime juice, and ½ cup simple syrup. Stir gently to blend.
  4. Add the frozen lime-tequila ice cubes and about 3 cups of regular ice cubes to a blender. Pour in half of the margarita base and blend on high for 30–45 seconds until smooth and frosty.
  5. Pour the blended frozen margarita back into the pitcher. Stir gently, then add the remaining margarita base and ice cubes as needed to keep chilled.
  6. Rim glasses with lime wedges and coarse salt. Fill glasses with the frosty margarita and garnish with lime wheels.

Notes

Freeze the lime-tequila ice cubes well in advance to keep the margarita icy without dilution. Avoid overblending to maintain frosty texture. Adjust sweetness and tartness to taste. Keep extra ice on hand for refills. For lower alcohol, reduce tequila and increase lime juice and triple sec accordingly. For a sweeter twist, add agave nectar. This recipe is naturally dairy-free and vegan.
