  • 1 large orange, peeled and sectioned
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) crushed cookies (butter cookies, shortbread, or digestive biscuits)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the orange segments by peeling the orange with a sharp knife, removing all the white pith, and carefully segmenting the orange over a bowl to catch any juice (about 5 minutes).
  2. Crush the cookies by placing them in a small plastic bag and gently crushing with a rolling pin to achieve bite-sized pieces. Alternatively, pulse a few times in a food processor. Set aside.
  3. Mix the yogurt base by stirring together Greek yogurt, honey (if using), and vanilla extract in a medium bowl until creamy and lightly sweetened (about 2 minutes).
  4. Assemble the bowl by spooning the yogurt mixture into a serving bowl and smoothing the top gently. Scatter the fresh orange segments evenly over the yogurt and drizzle any leftover orange juice for extra flavor.
  5. Add the cookie crunch by sprinkling the crushed cookies over the top, then scatter chia seeds if desired.
  6. Serve immediately to keep the cookie crunch intact. If preparing ahead, keep yogurt and orange separate from cookies and combine just before serving.

Peel the orange carefully to remove all white pith to avoid bitterness. Crush cookies gently to maintain a mix of crumbs and chunks for texture. Add cookie topping just before serving to keep crunch.
