Gooey, chocolatey Halloween Oreo cake bars decorated with festive sprinkles and black-and-orange Oreo cookies, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (devil’s food recommended)
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • Water (as per cake mix instructions)
  • 2025 Halloween Oreos, roughly chopped
  • Halloween sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until smooth, following the instructions on the cake mix box.
  3. Roughly chop the Oreo cookies into chunks. Reserve about 5 cookies for topping and gently fold the rest into the cake batter.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
  5. Crush the remaining Oreos and sprinkle them over the top of the batter along with your chosen Halloween sprinkles. Add mini chocolate chips if desired.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center—it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Allow the cake bars to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing. For quicker cooling, place the pan in the fridge.
  8. Use a sharp knife to cut the cake into bars. Serve on a festive Halloween platter.

Notes
