  • 2 cups crushed graham crackers (160g)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (115g)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar (220g)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (115g)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (60ml)
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (260g)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable oil (15ml)

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Combine crushed graham crackers, melted butter, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press firmly into the bottom of the pan to create an even layer. Refrigerate to chill while preparing the caramel.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to boil. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring to prevent burning. Remove from heat and pour the caramel over the chilled crust. Spread evenly and refrigerate for 15 minutes to set.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Pour the chocolate over the set caramel layer and spread evenly with a spatula.
  4. Optional: Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle flaky sea salt, chopped nuts, or drizzle white chocolate on top for added texture and flavor.
  5. Refrigerate the bars for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set. Lift the parchment paper from the pan and cut into squares or rectangles. Serve and enjoy!
