Ingredients

  • Hard, aged cheese like cheddar or Parmesan, cut into small cubes
  • Optional: Garlic powder, smoked paprika, or Italian herbs for seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut hard cheese into small cubes, roughly ½ inch.
  3. If desired, toss the cheese cubes in your seasoning of choice for added flavor.
  4. Place the cheese cubes on the parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they’re spaced apart to prevent sticking.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, watching closely. The cheese cubes should puff up and turn golden brown.
  6. Remove the cheese puffs from the oven and let them cool completely. They will crisp up further as they cool.

Notes

Use aged cheese for the best puffing results. Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet and keep an eye on the oven to prevent burning. Store extras in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
