A layered dessert featuring creamy pumpkin cheesecake, spiced maple pecans, and fluffy whipped cream, perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crumbled graham crackers or gingersnap cookies
  • Optional garnish: a drizzle of caramel sauce or extra pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Toss the chopped pecans with maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Spread them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8-10 minutes, stirring halfway through. Let them cool completely before using.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, and mix until fully combined. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the whipped cream by beating the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip—it should be light and fluffy.
  4. Begin assembling the trifle with a layer of crumbled graham crackers or gingersnap cookies at the bottom of your trifle dish or serving glasses. Add a generous layer of pumpkin cheesecake filling on top.
  5. Sprinkle a handful of maple pecans over the cheesecake layer for crunch.
  6. Follow it with a layer of whipped cream, spreading it evenly to cover the pecans.
  7. Repeat the layers until your dish is full, finishing with a whipped cream layer on top. Garnish with extra maple pecans or a drizzle of caramel sauce for added flair.
  8. Chill the trifle in the fridge for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve cold and enjoy!
