A quick and easy festive mocktail combining tart cranberry juice, sparkling water, and fresh citrus for a refreshing, bubbly drink perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened or lightly sweetened cranberry juice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) chilled sparkling water (plain or citrus-flavored)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • A handful of fresh cranberries for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) simple syrup or honey (optional)
  • Lemon or lime wedge for garnish
  • Small pinch of ground cinnamon or a sprig of fresh rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill your sparkling water and glasses in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Juice the orange to get about 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of fresh orange juice, straining out seeds.
  3. In a mixing glass or pitcher, combine 1 cup (240 ml) cranberry juice and the fresh orange juice.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon (5 ml) simple syrup or honey if desired, stirring to balance sweetness.
  5. Fill serving glasses halfway with ice cubes.
  6. Pour the juice mixture over the ice evenly.
  7. Gently pour 1 cup (240 ml) chilled sparkling water over the juice mixture and stir lightly once or twice to mix without losing fizz.
  8. Garnish with fresh cranberries and a lemon or lime wedge; add a sprinkle of cinnamon or a rosemary sprig if desired.
  9. Serve immediately to enjoy the bubbles at their freshest.

Notes

Keep sparkling water and glasses well chilled to preserve bubbles longer. Stir gently after adding sparkling water to avoid losing fizz. Freshly squeezed orange juice improves flavor significantly. Sweetener is optional and can be adjusted to taste. Large ice cubes melt slower and help prevent dilution.
