A cool and spicy frozen margarita slush combining sweet watermelon and jalapeño heat, perfect for summer refreshment and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups watermelon, cubed and deseeded
  • 1 small jalapeño, sliced (seeds removed for milder heat)
  • 1 cup tequila blanco
  • ½ cup fresh lime juice (about 45 limes)
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 3 cups ice cubes
  • Salt for rimming glasses (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut about 4 cups of fresh watermelon into cubes, removing any seeds.
  2. Slice one small jalapeño in half and remove seeds if you prefer less heat. Handle carefully and wash hands afterward.
  3. Squeeze juice from 4-5 fresh limes to get approximately ½ cup of lime juice.
  4. Add watermelon cubes, jalapeño slices, lime juice, tequila blanco, and agave syrup into a high-speed blender. Pulse a few times to break down the jalapeño, then blend on high until smooth and vibrant pink.
  5. Add 3 cups of ice cubes and blend again until the mixture reaches a thick, slushy consistency. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides.
  6. Optional: Rub a lime wedge around the rims of serving glasses and dip them into coarse salt.
  7. Pour the frozen margarita slush into glasses, garnish with a thin jalapeño slice or small watermelon wedge, and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust jalapeño seeds to control heat. Use fresh ice cubes for best texture. Avoid overblending after adding ice to prevent watery slush. Fresh watermelon is preferred over frozen for better flavor and texture. Salt or smoked salt rims add a nice contrast. For a non-alcoholic version, omit tequila and add sparkling water or lemon-lime soda.
