A quick and easy sparkling punch bowl recipe combining fresh strawberries, champagne, orange juice, and sparkling water, perfect for celebrations and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) champagne or prosecco, dry or brut style
  • 2 cups (16 fl oz) freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 cup (8 fl oz) sparkling water or club soda
  • 1/4 cup (2 fl oz) strawberry liqueur or simple syrup (optional)
  • A handful of fresh mint leaves
  • Lemon or lime slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and hull about 2 cups of fresh strawberries, then slice them into thin pieces. Use a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to gently crush the berries in the punch bowl, releasing their natural juices (about 3 minutes).
  2. Pour in 2 cups (16 fl oz) of freshly squeezed orange juice over the muddled strawberries. Stir gently to combine (about 1 minute).
  3. Slowly add 1 bottle (750 ml) of chilled champagne or prosecco to the punch bowl. Pour gently to keep the bubbles alive and stir very lightly to mix without flattening the bubbles (about 2 minutes).
  4. Pour in 1 cup (8 fl oz) of chilled sparkling water or club soda. Stir once gently to combine.
  5. If desired, stir in 1/4 cup (2 fl oz) of strawberry liqueur or simple syrup to sweeten. Taste as you go to avoid over-sweetening.
  6. Add a handful of fresh mint leaves and thin slices of lemon or lime to the punch bowl for garnish (about 2 minutes).
  7. Chill the punch for 15 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld, or serve immediately. Cover with plastic wrap if chilling.
  8. Serve using a ladle into chilled champagne flutes or glasses, ensuring each serving includes some fruit and a sprig of mint.

Notes

Chill all ingredients beforehand to keep bubbles lively. Pour champagne slowly to preserve fizz. Avoid muddling strawberries too aggressively to prevent a jammy texture. Add ice cubes just before serving to avoid watering down the punch. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute champagne with sparkling white grape juice or extra sparkling water.
