A quick and easy charcuterie snack board featuring a flavorful spicy honey glaze that perfectly balances sweet, salty, and spicy notes. Ideal for beach days and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup honey (raw, unfiltered preferred)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to heat preference)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Assorted cured meats (prosciutto, soppressata, spicy chorizo)
  • Cheeses (soft goat cheese, sharp aged cheddar, creamy brie)
  • Marinated olives (kalamata or green)
  • 1 cup spicy roasted almonds or mixed nuts
  • Fresh fruit slices (pear or apple)
  • Crackers or crusty baguette slices
  • Optional garnishes: fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary, pickled vegetables

Instructions

  1. Make the Spicy Honey Glaze: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, and sea salt. Stir gently until warm and combined, about 3–4 minutes. Remove from heat, then stir in fresh lemon juice. Let cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Charcuterie Ingredients: Slice cured meats into thin, bite-sized pieces about ¼ inch thick. Cut cheeses into wedges and small cubes. Slice pears or apples thinly and toss lightly with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. Toast the Nuts: In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast mixed nuts or almonds until fragrant and slightly golden, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and toss with a pinch of salt and a light drizzle of the spicy honey glaze while still warm.
  4. Arrange the Board: Place small bowls of marinated olives and pickled vegetables on the serving board. Arrange sliced meats and cheeses around the bowls, alternating colors and shapes. Add honey-glazed nuts in small piles, then tuck in fresh fruit slices and crackers in gaps.
  5. Drizzle the Glaze: Using a kitchen brush or spoon, lightly drizzle the spicy honey glaze over the cheeses and some meats, being careful not to overdo it.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for aroma and color. Serve immediately or cover and chill for up to 2 hours if preparing in advance.

Notes

Temper the honey glaze on low heat to avoid burning. Toast nuts carefully to prevent burning. Drizzle glaze lightly to balance flavors. Slice fruit last minute to prevent browning. Warm glaze gently if hardened in fridge. Keep crackers separate to avoid sogginess.
