These Spooky Ghost Fruit Skewers are a fun, festive, and healthier alternative to the usual Halloween candy. Perfect for parties or family activities, they’re easy to make and customizable with your favorite fruits.

Ingredients

  • Ripe bananas (peeled and sliced into 1-inch chunks)
  • Mini chocolate chips (use dairy-free if needed)
  • Strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • Green grapes (washed and dried)
  • Pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, bite-sized)
  • Wooden skewers
  • Optional: blueberries, kiwi slices, melon chunks, melted dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice bananas into 1-inch chunks. Hull and slice strawberries, wash and dry grapes, and cut pineapple into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Using mini chocolate chips, press them gently into the banana slices to create eyes and a mouth. For detailed faces, carve small indentations with a toothpick before adding the chocolate chips.
  3. Start with a banana ghost at the bottom of the skewer. Add a strawberry slice, a grape, and a pineapple chunk. Repeat the sequence until the skewer is full, ending with another banana ghost at the top.
  4. If the chocolate chips aren’t sticking well, use a dab of melted chocolate or honey as adhesive.
  5. Lay the skewers on a serving tray, arranging them creatively for maximum visual impact. Serve immediately or refrigerate until your party starts.

Notes

[‘Prep the fruit as close to serving time as possible to maintain freshness.’, ‘Brush banana slices lightly with lemon juice to prevent browning.’, ‘Use firm fruits to prevent them from falling apart on the skewer.’, ‘Set up a skewer-making station for kids to create their own spooky designs.’, ‘Cover skewers tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.’]
