Perfectly seared, tender beef bites swimming in a luscious garlic butter sauce, paired with golden-crisp potatoes. A quick and easy one-pan meal that’s full of flavor and comfort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450g) sirloin or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 pound (450g) baby potatoes, halved
  • 4 tablespoons (60g) unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: A pinch of paprika or chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon (15ml) of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the halved potatoes. Season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and crispy. Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon (15ml) of olive oil. Add the beef bites in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t overcrowded. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika if desired. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and melt 3 tablespoons (45g) of butter in the skillet. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  4. Return the potatoes and beef bites to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic butter sauce to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to warm everything through.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

[‘For extra crispy potatoes, pat them dry with a paper towel before sautéing.’, ‘Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure proper searing.’, ‘Let the beef sit out for 20-30 minutes before cooking for even searing.’, ‘Add butter after searing to avoid burning and maintain flavor.’, ‘Keep an eye on the garlic to prevent it from turning bitter.’]
