This Tiramisu Cold Brew recipe combines bold cold brew coffee with creamy mascarpone, sweetened condensed milk, and a hint of vanilla, topped with a cloud of cocoa-dusted foam. It’s a quick, easy, and decadent coffee dessert perfect for brunch, entertaining, or a special afternoon treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups cold brew coffee (homemade or store-bought)
  • 3 tablespoons mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional, e.g., Kahlúa or Tia Maria)
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
  • 12 tablespoons simple syrup or maple syrup, to taste
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill your glass)

Instructions

  1. If making cold brew from scratch: Combine 1/2 cup coarsely ground coffee beans with 2 cups cold water in a jar. Stir, cover, and steep in the fridge for 12-18 hours. Strain using a fine mesh sieve or French press. Measure out 1 1/2 cups for this recipe.
  2. If using store-bought cold brew, measure out 1 1/2 cups and chill.
  3. Stir 1-2 tablespoons simple syrup or maple syrup into the cold brew, adjusting to taste. Add 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur if using. Mix well.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine mascarpone, heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Whip by hand or with an electric mixer on medium speed for 1-2 minutes, until thickened and slightly fluffy but still pourable.
  5. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes (about 1 1/2 cups or enough to fill halfway).
  6. Pour the sweetened cold brew over the ice.
  7. Spoon or slowly pour the mascarpone cream topping over the cold brew. Let it float for a layered look or gently swirl for a marbled effect.
  8. Dust 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder over the top using a fine mesh sieve. Optionally, add grated chocolate or chocolate shavings.
  9. Insert a straw, gently stir if desired, and enjoy! Garnish with a ladyfinger cookie for extra flair.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use plant-based cream cheese and coconut cream. Adjust sweetness to taste, especially if using store-bought cold brew. Chill all ingredients and equipment for best results. The mascarpone cream can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. For a party, set up a DIY bar with toppings and mix-ins.
