A dreamy combination of creamy cheese, tender pasta, and effortless cooking, perfect for lazy nights when you want comfort food without spending hours in the kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese (sharp cheddar recommended)
  • 8 ounces Velveeta cheese (cubed)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spray your crock pot’s interior with non-stick cooking spray or lightly grease it with butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Add the uncooked elbow macaroni to the crock pot.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of milk, 1 cup of heavy cream, and your seasonings (salt, black pepper, and garlic powder).
  4. Pour the milk mixture over the macaroni.
  5. Scatter the cubed butter, Velveeta cheese, and 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the macaroni.
  6. Set your crock pot to low and cook for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to ensure the cheese melts evenly and the pasta cooks properly.
  7. After 2 hours, check the pasta’s tenderness. If it’s still slightly firm, let it cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  8. Once the macaroni is tender and the cheese sauce is creamy, stir in the remaining cup of shredded cheddar cheese and the Parmesan cheese.
  9. Let it cook for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and incorporated.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy the ultimate crock pot mac and cheese experience!

Notes

Stir every 30 minutes to prevent clumping and ensure even cooking. Use freshly grated cheese for a creamier sauce. Add a crunchy topping like toasted breadcrumbs or crushed crackers for extra texture.
